Job Description

A well-established manufacturing company based in downtown Los Angeles is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join the Finance team. This role is responsible for managing customer invoicing, collections, and cash application while supporting accurate financial reporting. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Apply customer payments (ACH, wire, check, credit card) to the appropriate accounts
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past-due balances
  • Communicate professionally with customers to resolve billing questions and disputes
  • Maintain customer account records and ensure billing accuracy
  • Reconcile accounts receivable subledger to the general ledger
  • Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts receivable
  • Prepare AR reports, aging schedules, and cash forecasting support
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and operations teams as needed
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and schedules

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounts receivable or related accounting experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred
  • Understanding of billing, collections, and cash application processes
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines
  • Professional communication and customer service skills

Education

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
